Introduction
The 71st National Film Awards ceremony was held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on 23rd September. The President of India, Draupadi Murmu, honored Vikrant Messey, Rani Mukherjee, Shah Rukh Khan, and Mohanlal, among others, for their significant contribution to Indian cinema.
On September 23, the 71st National Film Awards lit up within Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi with moments of standing ovations, appreciation, and pleasure since the honorable president of India, Smt. Best actor and actress award: Conferring the prominent Dadasaheb Phalke Award to the Malayalam legendary actor Shri Mohanlal, the President determined that he has displayed his unique talent along with India’s cultural ethos via his huge body of work. Best Debut Film
The most popular film award has been given to Karan Johar for serving hearty entertainment for his film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani. Best actor in supporting role: Vijayaraghavan won the best actor in supporting role award for Pookkaalam (Malayalam). Additionally, Janki Bodiwala and Urvashi were honored with the best supporting actress award.

Best Music
- The award for best sound has been given to Animal (Hindi) (Hariharan Muralidharan and Sachin Sudhakaran) for editing by Midhun Murali into Pookkaalam (Malayalam).

- Vaibhavi Merchant has been awarded the best choreographer award for the song Dhindhora Baje Re in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahanni.
Six Child Actors Awarded
The President commended every person present during the award ceremony for motivating films that emphasize children, specifically girls. This year, around six child actors are awarded.

Best child artist’s award: During the National Film Awards, Shrinivas Pakale won the best child artist category by the President. Furthermore, Treesha Thosar, a Marathi child artist, won the best child artist award for her phenomenal role as Chimi (Revati).
Government Initiative
As per Ashwini Vaishnav, the Union Minister, the Government of India will be promoting Indigenous Film Equipment, prepare model state cinema regulation rules, and reinforce live concerts in order to acknowledge Viksit Bharat 2047.
Non-featured Film Awards

Furthermore, she stated that films provide entertainment to the audience and also provide a mode of awakening society, as well as spread awareness among youth and instill compassion.
The President also determined to maximize the presence of women within the Indian cinema, which served them equal opportunities, which helped them to attain unique success and excel in their field. At last, she concluded by showing her appreciation for the evolving and young talents.
